|BTW- We went to see the new "IT" yesterday. It's entertaining but IMO the director used to many shock scenes to frighten the audience. Very loud Screams, BUMPS! and THUMPS!(dolby 7.1) accompanied with flashes of gore and blood will work on the younguns .... but I didn't connect with this movie like I did the original. Both follow the basic story line of the book but the first "IT" seemed to portray the visuals I had from reading the book that fucked with ME most. Except for that Spider-like thing at the end of the original. Pennywise was Pennywise throughout in the newEST version. Here's a spoiler for ya in case you hadn't already figured it out. At the end of the movie, it didn't say "The End". It said "End of Chapter 1". So I guess it'll become a gotdam franchise like gotdam Star Wars or some shit. Okay so here goes ... I give the new "IT" a 3.2 on a five star scale. It's entertaining but I never got lost in the movie. Nah'me? I also never stopped comparing the new with the old. So go to a matinee, like we did. It's worth the $5.50 per. The cost of the popcorn and sodey-pop is a whole 'nuther matter and gets a whole 'NUTHER rating. AND ... As long as I'm up here critiquing shit .... Fuck Sam Elliot! In The gotdam Moustach!|
